NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS ANNOUNCED

The City of Modesto is proud to announce the appointment of Allen Lagarbo to the position of Deputy Director of Public Works-Operations over the Water Services Division effective July 8, 2008. Lagarbo has more than 27 years of service with the City of Modesto, most recently as the Water Division Superintendent for ten years. Prior to that assignment, he held the position of City Arborist for 14 years.

Lagarbo holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo in Ornamental Horticulture. He holds a California Grade 5 Water Distribution Certificate, California Grade 3 Water Treatment Operator Certificate, Water Conservation Practitioner Certificate, and a California State Pest Control Advisor’s license. Lagarbo is also a Certified Arborist and Certified Nurseryman, with an extensive background in community improvement and customer service.
